As we gradually move into fall weather, we’re busy getting ready to make some seasonal changes at the restaurant. Some recent specials to accompany the cooler temperatures have included a delicious smoked corn and lobster chowder and Ed’s lobster fries. And after this weekend’s visit to Wright’s Apple Farm, we can look forward to a lot of homemade apple pies in the coming weeks.

Also coming up this month are a number of events outside of the restaurant that I’d encourage you to check out. On Sunday, October 11th, I’ll be at the NYC Wine & Food Festival Grand Tasting, and Tuesday, October 20th, I’ll be at City Harvest’s annual Bid Against Hunger benefit.

In the restaurant we’re very excited about our new wine list, which will debut the week of the 12th. A few favorites will stay, but we’re nearly doubling our selection, which means a lot more $30-40 white bottles, some new Chablis, and generally a lot of California. We’re also happy to have been included in the Michelin Guide’s Bib Gourmand 2010 ratings for excellence and value.

Due to the great demand, we’re continuing our $28 lobsters special (whole steamed one-and-one-half pound) at lunch on weekdays and $2 oysters during weekday lunches and Sundays from 12 – 6 PM.
